Yangju City to Operate Wood Culture Experience Center Year-Round, Offering Diverse Woodworking Experience Programs
Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province will invest a total project budget of 180 million won throughout 2026 to operate a variety of woodworking experience programs at the Wood Culture Experience Center.
According to the Forest Division of Yangju City, last year the city operated general experience programs, advanced woodworking classes, and an on-site visiting woodworking school program, resulting in a total of 800 sessions with 9,626 participants. As citizens' interest has been growing every year, the number of participants has also been steadily increasing.
This year as well, Yangju City is recruiting participants for its woodworking programs through the operation of the Wood Culture Experience Center. The Yangju Wood Culture Experience Center is located at 883, Okjeong-dong, Yangju Sup Bokji Senteo in Yangju City, and is operated from Tuesday to Saturday with separate morning and afternoon sessions.
The programs include one-day experience sessions, do-it-yourself (DIY) production programs, and a visiting woodworking class. To apply, participants can select their desired program and make a reservation through the Wood Culture Experience Center online reservation system.
In addition, to further activate the Wood Culture Experience Center, the city will also operate woodworking experience events and a visiting woodworking school program.
The city plans to provide woodworking experience opportunities to around 3,000 students by offering visiting woodworking education to elementary schools within the jurisdiction. It will also operate experience booths at various festivals such as the Yangju Hoeamsaji Royal Festival and the Ten Million Gomphrena Festival, offering citizens a wide range of woodworking experiences.
