Cheongyang County to Rapidly Execute 229.5 Billion Won in First-Half Budget
Target Set at 62% Execution, Exceeding Central Government Goal...Early Injection Starting with Large-Scale Investment Projects
To reignite the local economy, which has been dampened by the economic slowdown, Cheongyang County in South Chungcheong Province is concentrating its administrative capacity on the rapid execution of local finances in the first half of the year.
The county plans to execute 62% of its first-half budget early in order to accelerate cash flow and use it as a priming force for restoring the livelihood economy.
On February 10, the county held the "2026 First-Half Rapid Execution Promotion Briefing" in the situation room of the county office, presided over by Vice Governor Jeon Sanguk and attended by heads of bureaus and departments, affiliated agencies, and business offices, to review execution strategies.
The county’s rapid execution target for the first half is 229.5 billion won, which corresponds to 62% of the applicable budget. This exceeds the fiscal execution target set by the central government and reflects the county’s intention to provide substantial liquidity to small business owners and small and medium-sized enterprises in the region.
During the briefing, the county focused on large-scale investment projects worth 300 million won or more, closely inspecting execution schedules and implementation status for each project.
The county also decided to share factors that could delay execution in advance and to significantly raise the early execution rate by actively applying simplified administrative procedures and rapid execution guidelines.
The county will operate a "Rapid Execution Task Force" headed by the vice governor to continuously manage execution performance by sector.
In addition, it plans to make maximum use of emergency bidding and advance payment systems to speed up budget execution.
Vice Governor Jeon Sanguk said, "In a situation of high economic uncertainty, the swift injection of public funds is a key means of revitalizing the local economy," and requested, "Please strengthen interdepartmental cooperation and mobilize every possible means, including shortening contract periods, to achieve the target."
