The event was hosted by the 6th International Students’ Council and was attended by 60 international undergraduate students.

The program focused on hands-on experiences of each country’s food culture related to Lunar New Year, traditional performances, and interactive activities.

Students from Vietnam, Mongolia, China, and Myanmar prepared representative Lunar New Year dishes from their home countries and shared them with others, introducing the meanings embedded in the food and the holiday traditions.

Mongolian and Myanmar students presented traditional dance performances, sharing their national cultures.

They also introduced each country’s Lunar New Year customs, greetings, and the significance of the holiday, using traditional costumes and photo materials.

Traditional Lunar New Year games and team-based activities were also held, and by forming mixed-nationality teams, participants were able to interact naturally.

In the latter part of the event, a free networking session was arranged, helping participants build friendships and networks through conversation and photo-taking.

International students who took part in the event reflected on the significance of cultural exchange centered on the Lunar New Year holiday.

Sandagdala Erdenechugt, president of the National Union Student Council (Mongolia, junior in Computer Engineering), said, "In Mongolia as well, the Lunar New Year holiday is an important time when family and the community come together. It was meaningful that international students studying in Korea could introduce their own cultures and understand each other’s traditions, and it gives great comfort and strength to international students."

Maityhwa, vice president of the Vietnamese Students’ Association (Vietnam, sophomore in Korean Language Education), said, "I used to miss my hometown every holiday, so I am grateful that the university prepared such a warm gathering. By enjoying food and traditional games together, I was able to naturally become closer to friends of different nationalities, and I once again felt a sense of belonging as a member of the university community."

Vice President for International Affairs Kim Sunjeong said, "International students are an important part of Keimyung University. I hope that this Lunar New Year cultural exchange event will broaden understanding of different cultures and help international students adapt stably to the university and the local community."

She added, "We will continue to expand a variety of international exchange programs so that international students can feel a sense of belonging."

Building on this event, Keimyung University plans to enhance mutual respect and cultural understanding among international students and to create a global campus environment where multicultural exchange is part of everyday life.
