Presidential Security Service to Receive Tactical Emergency Care Training at Armed Forces Medical School

View original imageThe Security and Safety Training Institute of the Presidential Security Service signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Armed Forces Medical School on the 10th to strengthen capabilities in emergency medical treatment, and agreed to provide a certification course for security agents.
The Presidential Security Service announced that on the 9th, it held a signing ceremony at the Security and Safety Training Institute in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, with Security and Safety Training Institute Director Kim Kyomwan and Armed Forces Medical School Commandant Jeong Junkyu in attendance.
Under the agreement, agents of the Presidential Security Service will receive training in Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) and Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC). TCCC is a set of medical treatment guidelines focused on military combat situations that has been officially adopted by the U.S. military and various other armed forces. TECC is a medical treatment concept applicable to civilian high-risk situations outside of military operations.
In addition, the Security and Safety Training Institute will operate an ultralight aircraft pilot certification course for the Armed Forces Medical School and support research on the aerial transport of medical supplies using training drones. Through this, the two sides also plan to promote cooperation for the development of a next-generation medical support system.

Director Kim Kyomwan of the Security and Safety Training Institute stressed, "This agreement will serve as an opportunity to elevate to a higher level the practical survival and medical treatment capabilities required in the security field."
