On the morning of the 4th, Korea South-East Power signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) titled "Cooperation on Power Plant Routine Maintenance Systems and Operations" with the Korea Electric Power Industry SME Association in the main conference room at its headquarters in Jinju, Gyeongsangnam-do.
The Korea Electric Power Industry SME Association is a non-profit incorporated association established to protect the rights and interests of SMEs in the power industry and to strengthen their competitiveness.
This agreement was prepared to ensure stable operation of facilities and the safety of on-site workers, and to reflect the voices from the field of SMEs in the power industry in policy, by promoting comprehensive cooperation on power plant routine maintenance systems and operations. The MOU includes exchanging information on systems, policies, and current operational status related to power plant routine maintenance; sharing opinions to ensure stable operation and safety of power generation facilities; and discussing ways to promote mutual growth in the power industry and improve conditions for SME participation.
As the operator of power generation facilities, Korea South-East Power will share directions for improving maintenance systems and trends in related policies, while the association will collect opinions from SMEs working in the field and propose items for institutional improvement.
To ensure this agreement does not remain a mere declaration, the two organizations plan to hold regular cooperation meetings starting in February to maintain substantive communication. Through this, they expect to enhance mutual understanding and trust between the organizations and to establish an official communication channel that can reflect the positions of SMEs in future policy review processes.
