View original imageThe work report was attended by Lee Donghwan, Mayor of Goyang, Lee Jaebok, Head of Ilsandong-gu Office, as well as department heads from 10 divisions of the district office, heads and team leaders from 12 administrative welfare centers, and approximately 120 staff members including key officials.
On this day, after receiving reports on the key achievements of the 8th popularly elected administration and the main work of each department in Ilsandong-gu, Mayor Lee Donghwan held an open discussion session with the staff of Ilsandong-gu.
After hearing the main work reports, Mayor Lee emphasized the geographical advantages of Ilsandong-gu, home to K-Culture Valley, MBC, and EBS, and urged each department to fulfill their respective roles in transforming the district into a hub for K-content. He also called for the thorough implementation of the cadastral resurvey project and strict farmland management, carefully reviewing issues closely related to citizens’ daily lives.
During the open discussion, which was conducted in a Q&A format between the mayor and staff, Millennials & Gen Z employees, who have become new leaders in the public sector, asked candid and unique questions, making for a lively and engaging communication session.
Questions ranged from Goyang’s unique strengths in attracting large-scale performances compared to other cities, to AI and robotics technologies encountered at CES 2026 that they would like to see adopted in city administration, as well as more personal inquiries such as which period in life they would like to return to and their favorite content to watch. The free-form questions broke down generational barriers and fostered a sense of empathy among participants.
