According to Damyang Police Station and fire authorities, at around 4:24 p.m. on the 24th, a jump rope academy commuter van veered off a single-lane road in Gasamunhak-myeon, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do, and crashed into nearby farmland.
As a result of the accident, a total of eight people, including the driver, identified as A, and seven child students, sustained minor injuries such as bruises. They were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Fortunately, all of the injured are reported to be in stable condition with no life-threatening injuries.
Investigations revealed that the accident occurred when driver A, while driving on a downhill curve, swerved the steering wheel to avoid an oncoming vehicle.
Police confirmed that A was neither under the influence of alcohol nor driving without a license at the time of the accident.
