There have been ongoing complaints regarding heating inside the buses, as well as insufficient break and meal times for drivers due to reduced battery efficiency of electric buses in winter, lack of charging facilities at the starting point, and insufficient charging time.
In response, Yangju City has decided to increase the number of operating vehicles from 11 to 13, thereby shortening the interval between buses and enhancing operational stability. Additionally, to facilitate smooth charging of electric buses, the starting point of route 81 has been extended to Bongyang Depot, and the number of buses has been increased in parallel to prevent longer intervals due to the route extension.
As a result of these measures, the number of weekday operations is expected to increase from 88 to 91, and the interval between buses will be shortened from the previous 12-15 minutes to approximately 10-13 minutes.
Prior to this increase, Yangju City completed preliminary consultations with Gyeonggi Province in December 2025, and the revised route with additional buses will be implemented starting January 12, 2026.
