This road expansion is intended to accommodate increased traffic resulting from the construction of SK Hynix's semiconductor production line and the development of the industrial complex.
The city invested a total of 43.3 billion won to expand the existing 1.88-kilometer section of road between Gajewol-ri and Dokseong-ri in Wonsam-myeon from two lanes to four lanes, with construction beginning in May last year. The temporarily opened section includes the entire stretch except for the Gajewol 1 Bridge segment. The full opening, including the bridge, is scheduled for May 21 next year.
The city expects that, as Bogeowonsam-ro will also directly connect to the Namyongin Interchange of the Sejong-Pocheon Expressway, this expansion will have a positive impact on logistics for the industrial complex.
