Gyeonggi Province Selected as Outstanding Local Government for Self-Sufficiency Projects
Gyeonggi Province has been selected as an outstanding local government in the "2025 Comprehensive Performance Evaluation of Self-Sufficiency Projects" organized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. This marks the second time the province has received such recognition, following the Presidential Citation in 2022.
The self-sufficiency project is a welfare initiative that systematically supports low-income individuals with work capability by providing job opportunities and helping them establish a foundation for self-reliance. Currently, there are a total of 7,166 participants in Gyeonggi Province's self-sufficiency work programs, and the province is making multifaceted efforts to support their practical independence.
This evaluation assessed all cities and provinces nationwide based on four key indicators: self-sufficiency work programs (40 points), asset-building support projects (25 points), revitalization of self-sufficiency funds and enterprises (25 points), and overall self-sufficiency project management (10 points).
Gyeonggi Province achieved balanced results across all evaluation indicators, earning nationwide recognition for its high level of support capabilities for self-reliance.
