Mirae Asset Park Hyeon Joo Foundation Holds Scholarship Certificate Ceremony for 34th Class of Overseas Exchange Scholars
The Mirae Asset Park Hyeon Joo Foundation announced on December 24 that it held the scholarship certificate award ceremony for the 34th class of Mirae Asset Overseas Exchange Scholars at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Seoul on December 23.
At the ceremony, more than 250 newly selected 34th class overseas exchange scholars attended and received their scholarship certificates. These scholars will be dispatched to leading universities in 23 countries, including the United States, Germany, and China, where they will experience academics and culture in diverse countries and educational environments.
The Mirae Asset Overseas Exchange Scholarship Program is a flagship global talent development initiative by Mirae Asset, supporting Korean university students to study as exchange students at prestigious universities abroad. Since its launch in 2007, a total of 7,944 scholars have been sent to 50 countries worldwide. The foundation has continuously supported the enhancement of global competencies among young people in Korea. Final scholars are selected through document screening and online interviews, and receive scholarships of 7.5 million won for the Americas and Europe, and 5.5 million won for Asia, depending on their dispatch region.
During the ceremony, various networking programs were held to allow scholars scheduled for dispatch in the spring semester of 2026 to support each other and share information. There was also a session where previous exchange scholars shared their overseas study experiences and practical preparation processes.
Nah Heesu, a 34th class scholar preparing to go to the United States, said, "It is very meaningful to receive the support needed for studying at an overseas university through the Mirae Asset Overseas Exchange Scholarship Program, which I have long aimed for," and added, "Through this exchange program, I will broaden my academic knowledge and do my best to develop the international perspective necessary as a researcher in the fields of environment and energy."
Jang Yongseong, Chairman of the Mirae Asset Park Hyeon Joo Foundation, who presented the scholarship certificates, stated, "The experience of building relationships with people from various cultural backgrounds is an important asset for personal growth and career planning," and added, "I hope you will calmly explore the career path and direction that suits you through these experiences."
