McDonald's Opens 'Paju Unjeong Gyohajeom' Location... Returns to Paju After 20 Years
Location Chosen for Customer Accessibility
330 Square Meters, 110 Seats, and Ample Parking Space Provided
McDonald's Korea announced on December 19 that it will open the 'Paju Unjeong Gyohajeom' location. This marks the first time in over 20 years that a McDonald's restaurant is opening in the Paju area.
Paju City, with a population of approximately 500,000, is experiencing rapid growth as a single residential community of about 300,000 people has formed around Unjeong New Town. In particular, there is a high proportion of newlywed couples and families with young children, leading to consistent demand for a McDonald's restaurant among local residents. McDonald's Korea explained that it has been considering entry into the Paju area as part of a long-term expansion strategy, taking into account the region's unique characteristics and growth potential.
The Paju Unjeong Gyohajeom location occupies about 330 square meters and offers approximately 110 seats. It is a standard restaurant rather than a drive-thru (DT), with its location chosen for accessibility to nearby residential complexes and local infrastructure. Ample parking space has been secured to enhance convenience for both dine-in and takeout customers.
A McDonald's representative stated, "As we are reopening in Paju after more than 20 years, we will strive to ensure that Paju Unjeong Gyohajeom delivers 'feel-good moments' to our customers and grows together with the local community." The representative also mentioned that the company is considering the possibility of opening additional locations in Paju City.
