Dong-gu Gwangju to Host Glocal AI Healthcare Forum on the 23rd
Dong-gu District in Gwangju announced on the 18th that it will host the 'Glocal Donggu Artificial Intelligence (AI) Healthcare Forum' on the 23rd, where participants will discuss the vision and strategies for building an AI-based healthcare industry ecosystem.
The forum is expected to be attended by more than 50 domestic and international representatives from industry, academia, research institutes, government, and hospitals, including Harvard Medical School, Daewoong Pharmaceutical, Chonnam National University Hospital, Gwangju Health University, and the Korea Digital Health Industry Association. The event will focus on sharing interim achievements and future directions of the 'AI Healthcare Demonstration Valley Development Project' currently being promoted by Dong-gu.
The forum will feature: ▲ a presentation on the achievements of the Korea Digital Health Industry Association in establishing a smart self-health management platform; ▲ case studies of global healthcare demonstration projects by Harvard MGH, Chonnam National University Hospital, and Daewoong Pharmaceutical; ▲ in-depth discussions on AI-based health management and data demonstration, as well as regional collaboration models. Participants will also exchange diverse opinions on Dong-gu's potential for growth as a demonstration hub and on strategies for linking policies.
In particular, more than 50 AI healthcare companies based in Dong-gu have expressed their intention to participate, demonstrating high interest in the event. This is expected to serve as an opportunity to confirm Dong-gu's potential to become a central hub for a demonstration ecosystem that integrates AI, medical infrastructure, and startup support.
Dong-gu has so far established a healthcare demonstration model that integrates industry, citizens, and technology by attracting over 90 AI startups, building a citizen-participatory data platform, and developing a lifelog-based health management platform. Moving forward, the district aims to complete the 'AI Healthcare Demonstration Valley' by integrating ongoing projects such as the construction of the AI Healthcare Donggu Tower, the smart self-health management platform, and startup incubation programs.
