The Daesong Complex is a reclaimed area spanning a total of 4,396 hectares across Daebu-dong in Ansan City and Songsan-myeon and Seosin-myeon in Hwaseong City. Since 1998, Korea Rural Community Corporation has been promoting it as the largest land reclamation project for agricultural use in the country. Of the total reclaimed area, 2,515 hectares fall under Ansan City’s jurisdiction.
With this budget secured, the city plans to sign a business agreement with Korea Rural Community Corporation in the first half of next year and jointly launch a study to develop the Daesong Complex into a next-generation agricultural and industrial cluster.
The study will focus on detailing a master plan for the “Daebudo self-sufficient city for 50,000 residents” with integrated functions such as agriculture, tourism, and energy. The study will also include a land use plan covering water supply measures and strategies for utilizing renewable energy. Based on this, the city intends to consult with central government ministries such as the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
