2025 Cooperative Awards Held... Grand Prize Goes to Korea Information Industry Cooperative
Twelve Cooperatives Selected and Awarded
The Korea Federation of SMEs announced on December 18 that it held the "2025 SME Cooperative Awards Ceremony" at the SME DMC Tower in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul.
The 2025 Cooperative Awards recognized a total of 12 cooperatives, including the Grand Prize and ten category awards (joint purchasing, joint sales, job creation, overseas market development, distribution and logistics, innovation specialization, regional specialization, social contribution, new cooperatives, and outstanding organizations).
The Korea Information Industry Cooperative, which received the prestigious Grand Prize, is a cooperative in the information industry sector that has driven the expansion of domestic small and medium-sized IT and software companies into the public market and strengthened industrial competitiveness.
By introducing a joint brand (SOPRO) and leveraging the qualified cooperative system to participate in public procurement bids, the cooperative has successfully executed numerous public sector IT projects over the past decade, achieving a cumulative order volume of 200 billion won. It was recognized for its contributions to improving software industry systems, promoting collaboration between large and small businesses, and fostering a fair market environment.

Kim Ki-moon, Chairman of the Korea Federation of SMEs, stated, "This year, the spread of protectionism and the acceleration of the artificial intelligence (AI) transition have created both crises and opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises. Cooperatives need to seek new opportunities through joint response strategies and play a role in establishing a sustainable growth foundation for SMEs."
