Yeoncheon County Named "Outstanding Institution for Medical Aid Program" for Three Consecutive Years
Yeoncheon County in Gyeonggi Province has been selected as an "Outstanding Institution for the Medical Aid Program" for three consecutive years-2023, 2024, and now 2025-in an evaluation organized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare conducted a comprehensive assessment of local governments nationwide, evaluating 11 indicators across five areas, including medical service utilization by beneficiaries, case management for medical aid, and the operation of home-based medical aid programs. Based on this assessment, 18 outstanding local governments were selected.
The Medical Aid Program is a national initiative that provides medical services such as consultations, examinations, and treatments for citizens who are unable or struggling to maintain their livelihood due to illness, injury, or childbirth.
Since July 2024, Yeoncheon County has actively promoted the nationwide expansion of the "Home-Based Medical Aid" program. The county has especially focused on intensive case management for high-frequency medical aid users and has implemented specialized programs such as "Together with the Community," striving to differentiate its case management efforts.
