Namwon City to Host 'Minhwa Glow Playground in Yeruwon'
Yeruwon Courtyard from December 24 to 27
Namwon City in North Jeolla Province will host the winter nighttime special program, 'Minhwa Glow Playground in Yeruwon,' for four days from December 24 to 27 at the Yeruwon courtyard.
According to the city on December 15, this program incorporates blacklight (UV) techniques into traditional Korean folk paintings (minhwa) to offer visitors to Namwon a unique and novel winter nighttime experience during the year-end and Christmas season.
During the event, the Yeruwon courtyard will be transformed into a fluorescent and glow-in-the-dark minhwa gallery using blacklight (UV) lighting. The program will feature an exhibition of glow-in-the-dark minhwa artworks created by local art academies and elementary and middle school students, as well as nighttime walking content, providing a rich array of attractions.
Within the venue, visitors can enjoy a minhwa playground enhanced by blacklight, a DIY program to create fluorescent accessories such as stained glass tree ornaments, making transfer-printed goods, baking Christmas cookies, designing custom goods stamps, and UV scratch paper activities.
There will also be a variety of performances that capture the Christmas spirit, including a show by the Namwon Municipal Nongak Troupe, bubble shows, magic shows, and balloon shows. With a diverse lineup of performances, hands-on activities, exhibitions, and games, the program is expected to attract many families with children during the winter break and Christmas season.
