IKEA Meatballs are one of IKEA's signature menu items, with annual sales reaching 1.4 billion pieces. The menu was developed in 1985 by Swedish chef Sten Stenstedt using a unique IKEA recipe, and was perfected after about 10 months of testing. This recipe has remained almost unchanged for 40 years, and since 2015, it has been diversified into options such as Plant Balls.
