Princess Louise, who attends the University of St Andrews, boarded the crowded train at Paddington Station that morning. Unable to find a seat, she sat down on the floor for the journey. Witnesses said she was extremely polite to other passengers. For the entire two-hour trip to her destination, she sat cross-legged, writing an essay, seemingly unconcerned about those around her.
Princess Louise is known for her modest image and is said to enjoy horseback riding. Perhaps because of this, it was reported that she appeared unbothered by sitting on the floor of a packed train for two hours.
In the UK, it often becomes a topic of conversation when members of the royal family are spotted using public transportation among ordinary citizens. Princess Louise's aunt, Princess Anne, attracted attention in 2020 when she took the London Underground near St Paul's Cathedral to attend a London Fashion Week event.
Meanwhile, Princess Louise, a member of the British royal family, was born in 2003 to Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh. She is also the granddaughter of the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. She is currently 17th in the line of succession to the British throne. Her composure, down-to-earth personality, and resemblance to the late Queen Elizabeth II have earned her the nickname "the royal family's secret weapon."
Princess Louise is majoring in English literature at the University of St Andrews and is in her final year. In March, she was also seen performing on stage in a play with her university friends.
Princess Louise has previously expressed interest in building a career in the fields of military, diplomacy, and law. If she chooses a military path, she would become the first female royal to serve as a soldier since Queen Elizabeth II. She is also known to have been very close to Queen Elizabeth II.
