The areas subject to this alert include Mokpo City, as well as the counties of Shinan, Muan, Haenam, Jindo, Yeongam, Yeonggwang, and Hampyeong.
The coastal safety risk alert system, based on the "Coastal Accident Safety Management Regulations," provides advance warnings to the public when there is a heightened risk of safety accidents in coastal danger zones such as piers, ports, harbors, and rocky shores due to adverse weather or natural disasters. The alert levels are divided into Attention, Caution, and Warning. Among these, the "Caution" level is applied when there is a significant concern about potential accidents or when the spread of damage is anticipated.
During the period of the caution alert, the Mokpo Coast Guard plans to strengthen sea and land patrols, focusing on accident-prone areas such as coastal waters, ports, harbors, and low-lying coastal zones. In addition, in cooperation with local governments, they will conduct safety awareness and guidance activities through electronic display boards and public broadcasts.
