Dongducheon City was selected for this project in March and received 10 million won in national funding. The original diary, written in Norwegian, Chinese, and English, was translated into Korean by a professional translation agency.
The 'Diary of David Randby' is a handwritten account by David Randby, who served as a member of the Norwegian medical support unit dispatched during the Korean War. The diary vividly details his journey to Korea and his experiences treating South Korean soldiers, North Korean soldiers, and civilians during the war. It is regarded as a valuable historical record that simultaneously illustrates the horrors of war and the humanitarian mission.
