Sunchang Fermentation Tourism Foundation to Host 'Merry Christmas in Advance' Festival on December 13-14
A Variety of Activities Including AR Games and Cooking Classes
The Sunchang Fermentation Tourism Foundation will host the '2025 Sunchang Merry Christmas' winter festival at Sunchang Fermentation Theme Park from December 13 to 14, 2025.
According to the foundation on December 11, this event is an experience-focused festival designed to offer families a chance to enjoy the Christmas spirit ahead of the year-end holidays.
During the festival, visitors can participate in interactive programs that engage all five senses, including: ▲ the AR (augmented reality) game "Rudolphs' Search for Santa," ▲ a Christmas fermented food cooking class (featuring stollen, mini cakes, and more), and ▲ a family Christmas tree-making activity.
In addition, a donation flea market will be held to encourage visitors to give back to the community and share the warmth of the season. Food trucks and emotional busking performances will also be available on-site to enhance the festive atmosphere.
Sunchang Fermentation Theme Park, the festival venue, is a multi-cultural space themed around fermentation culture, equipped with play areas, exhibition and experience zones, educational spaces, a botanical garden, an outdoor stage, and a cafe.
Earlier this year, the park was recognized for its potential as a national tourist destination, having been selected for the "2025 Small-Scale Potential Tourist Destination Discovery and Development Project" led by the Korea Tourism Organization.
Choi Youngil, the county governor, stated, "This festival is a warm event prepared so that families can fully enjoy the winter atmosphere of Sunchang together. We will continue to expand year-end festivals that blend local tourism and culture around Sunchang Fermentation Theme Park, creating precious memories for both residents and visitors."
