In particular, Cheongsong County faces a vulnerable environment where access to specialized preventive education is difficult due to its rural characteristics.
To address educational disparities, Cheongsong County directly planned and operated an outreach, hands-on preventive education program and promoted the "Atopic Dermatitis Prevention and Management Education - Making Natural Soap Good for the Skin" project.
This program was conducted a total of 13 times from June 17 to September 23, with 268 participants, including students from Atopy and Asthma Safe Schools and Nutrition Plus beneficiaries.
The program included stick puppet shows and OX quiz education for kindergartens and daycare centers, natural soap making and education on bathing and eating habits for elementary and middle school students, and allergy disease awareness education for parents of young children and pregnant women. The program also provided moisturizers and practical moisturizing sessions to strengthen real-life preventive practices.
Participating teachers responded positively, stating, "It was effective in helping students concentrate and learn healthy habits." The medical center plans to expand the program as a regular offering in the future.
In the field of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease prevention and management, public health doctor Lee Jongjun was recognized for his contributions to the early detection and preventive counseling of high-risk groups for hypertension and diabetes, as well as for strengthening the emergency response system. In addition, branch clinic director Choi Yangmi was honored for her efforts to expand home health management and improve medical accessibility for rural residents.
