Yangju City Wins Minister of the Interior and Safety Award at Organizational Culture Improvement Best Practices Competition
Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province has received the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award (Encouragement Award) at the 2025 Organizational Culture Improvement Best Practices Competition, hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The Organizational Culture Improvement Best Practices Competition is held annually to discover and share efforts and achievements in improving organizational culture among central government agencies, local governments nationwide, and boards of education.
This year, 103 government and public institutions from across the country participated. Twelve institutions that passed the first round of expert review advanced to the finals. As a result of the presentations, which included both expert and renewal evaluations, Yangju City was the only local government in the metropolitan area to receive an award.
Yangju City has selected and implemented 18 initiatives based on five core values-fairness, communication, respect, responsibility, and balance-under the vision of "Yangju City that communicates, respects, and grows together," enabling employees to experience a sense of efficacy.
In particular, the city received high praise for several initiatives: conducting a respect culture campaign to encourage the use of respectful and considerate language; actively addressing organizational culture issues; promoting information sharing by removing barriers in the Onnara document system; and reducing work processing time by introducing a Robotic Process Automation (RPA) system.
