View original imageAt approximately 6:32 p.m. on December 10, a passenger car traveling on a national highway near the Gyeongnam Arboretum in Ilbanseong-myeon, Jinju, South Gyeongsang Province, rear-ended a 5-ton forklift that was driving in the second lane.
Immediately after the collision, the passenger car was propelled into the first lane, overturned, and was subsequently struck again by another passenger car following behind.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the overturned vehicle, a man in his 50s identified as Mr. A, was rescued in cardiac arrest and transported to the hospital, but died during treatment.
The 5-ton forklift driver, a man in his 30s identified as Mr. B, complained of back pain, while the driver of the other passenger car, a man in his 50s identified as Mr. C, reported facial pain. Both were transported to the hospital.
Authorities determined that neither driver was under the influence of alcohol nor driving without a license at the time of the accident.
