Yongin City Climate Change Experience Center to Launch 'Re-Christmas Eco Workshop'
Creating Recycled Products from Discarded Materials
15 Sessions for 225 Participants Starting December 13
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on December 11 that it will operate the 'Re-Christmas Eco Workshop,' a family program where participants create recycled products using discarded materials, at the Climate Change Experience and Education Center starting December 13.
The city explained that the program was designed to raise awareness about the severity of the climate crisis and to encourage the practice of carbon neutrality in daily life.
The program will run a total of 15 sessions over three days-December 13, 20, and 25-recruiting 15 participants per session, for a total of 225 people. Those interested in participating can apply on a first-come, first-served basis through the Yongin City integrated reservation website.
The program consists of two themes: ▲Santa's Idea and ▲Santa's Spring Gift. In 'Santa's Idea,' participants will learn about the environmental impact of plastic and make Christmas wreaths using discarded items and natural materials. 'Santa's Spring Gift' is an ecological sensitivity education program where participants use unused flower pots from home to plant tulip bulbs and learn about the adaptation strategies of plants facing crisis situations due to climate change. Participants will also take part in the 'Exchange Market,' where they can exchange items with one another and directly practice the concept of resource circulation.
