Kim Jongbeom of Chungnam Research Institute Wins Korea Environment and Energy "Rising Researcher Award"

Kim Jongbeom, Senior Researcher at the West Coast Climate and Environment Research Center of the Chungnam Research Institute, was awarded the Rising Researcher Award at the 17th Korea Environment and Energy Awards in recognition of his achievements in environmental policy and air quality research. He received high praise for his contributions to developing effective carbon neutrality policies through region-based research.
According to the institute on December 11, Dr. Kim has continuously conducted key research in the fields of environment and air quality, including analyzing greenhouse gas emissions in the livestock industry and developing reduction models, establishing air pollution management plans for each city and county, proposing policies based on ozone concentration analysis, and formulating chemical safety management plans.
In particular, his practical research, which combines academic achievements with policy applicability, has been credited with contributing to the development of carbon neutrality strategies for Chungnam Province.
The Chungnam Research Institute stated, "Dr. Kim's award is a testament to the nationwide recognition of the institute's research capabilities in environment and energy," adding, "We will continue to strengthen our research foundation to lead regional and national policy."
