Man in His 20s Arrested for Extorting Tens of Millions of Won from Person with Intellectual Disability
Gwangju Bukbu Police Station announced on December 10 that it had arrested a man in his 20s, identified as A, on charges of extortion and fraud for threatening and taking money from a person with an intellectual disability.
A is accused of assaulting and threatening a man in his 20s with an intellectual disability, identified as B, and extorting valuables worth approximately 83 million won from him 615 times between July 2020 and January of this year.
Investigations revealed that A met B at a PC cafe while playing games, and when B refused his demands for money, A injured B with a lit cigarette.
