"Leaping Forward as Korea's Leading Wellness Platform"... CJ Olive Young to Launch 'Olive Better' in Q1 Next Year
Launching a Platform Specializing in Wellness
Opening Offline Stores in Gwanghwamun and Gangnam
Serving as a Gateway to Korean-Style Wellness for International Visitors
On December 10, CJ Olive Young announced that it will launch "Olive Better," Korea's first omnichannel wellness curation platform, in the first quarter of next year.
Wellness, which refers to a lifestyle that seeks a harmonious balance between body and mind, has emerged as a key growth driver in the global retail market. In response, major overseas retailers are expanding "wellness retail" that integrates beauty and health, along with dedicated stores.
Olive Better has been designed based on Olive Young's extensive online and offline customer data assets, product and category curation expertise, and omnichannel management experience. Products are organized into six main categories: ▲Eating Well (inner beauty foods, healthy snacks, etc.) ▲Nourishing Well (nutritional supplements, etc.) ▲Moving Well (supplements, exercise equipment, etc.) ▲Grooming Well (aromatherapy, dermacosmetics, etc.) ▲Resting Well (sleep aids, herbal teas, etc.) ▲Caring Well (oral and hygiene products, etc.).
The first Olive Better offline store will open in Gwanghwamun, a major business district in northern Seoul, and the second store will open in Gangnam, a key commercial area in Seoul. By placing stores in urban areas with high foot traffic from office workers and both domestic and international visitors, the company aims to make wellness products easily accessible in customers’ daily routines and commutes.
Olive Better will also be available on the Olive Young online mall in an "App-in-App" format. This exploratory platform will recommend products tailored to individual lifestyles and concerns, and provide wellness routine notifications. Going forward, the company plans to enhance customer experience through content marketing and membership benefits that connect online and offline channels.
Olive Young plans to more systematically capture domestic wellness demand both online and offline, and expand its position as a leading distribution platform representing K-Wellness, following the success of K-Beauty. In addition, Olive Better will serve as a testbed and growth hub for emerging K-Wellness brands, and act as a gateway to introduce Korean-style wellness to international visitors to Korea.

A CJ Olive Young representative stated, "If Olive Young has been a platform focused on 'beauty,' Olive Better will expand this into the wellness category. Through this, we aim to lead the domestic wellness market and provide an advanced shopping experience to international visitors as well."
