Inje County to Provide 5.1 Billion Won in Basic Public Benefit Direct Payments to 3,415 Farming Households
Inje County, Gangwon Province, will provide 5.1 billion won in "2025 Basic Public Benefit Direct Payments" to 3,415 farming households within the county.
The Basic Public Benefit Direct Payment is a system that provides subsidies to farmers who meet certain qualifications and comply with requirements, in order to enhance the public functions of rural areas and stabilize farmers' incomes.
The subsidies are divided into two categories: the Small Farmer Direct Payment, which provides a fixed payment of 1.3 million won per household to those owning less than 5,000 square meters of farmland, and the Area-Based Direct Payment, which is paid differentially based on the cultivated area, ranging from 1.36 million to 2.15 million won per hectare. The final payment amount is determined by whether the recipients fulfill requirements such as maintaining the shape and function of the farmland and completing educational courses.
Inje County announced that this year, it will pay 2.3 billion won in Small Farmer Direct Payments to 1,744 households and 2.8 billion won in Area-Based Direct Payments to 1,671 households.
The county accepted applications from February to May from farmers and farmland registered as agricultural management entities, and finalized the recipients and payment amounts through on-site inspections and compliance checks by November.
The public benefit direct payments will be provided to farmers and households by mid-December, and the county plans to strengthen measures to prevent fraudulent claims in advance.
