On December 9, Innovation Asset Management stated that the transaction structure related to the acquisition of Mobis is a standard merger and acquisition (M&A) method involving both professional management and strategic investors (SI).
The company explained that all procedures are being conducted in accordance with relevant regulations, and at this stage, it cautioned against making definitive or speculative interpretations.
The company also emphasized that the transaction structure has been appropriately disclosed through consultation with the counterparty. The disclosure includes a statement that "the acquirer in the management rights and stock purchase agreement may be subject to change." Any future changes will be released according to the required procedures.
An industry insider commented, "It is common in the market for general private asset management firms to participate in management as co-general partners (Co-GP) together with new technology finance companies or independent private equity funds, and this transaction structure is not significantly different."
Innovation Asset Management is pursuing a strategy to expand its business based on artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum technology, leveraging the acquisition of Mobis.
The company explained that it sees high potential for Mobis's LLRF-based ultra-precision control technology to be utilized in the convergence of quantum computing and AI, and is discussing joint business plans with strategic investors who possess relevant capabilities. Through this, the company plans to gradually expand its global quantum-AI service (QaaS) and industrial control solution businesses.
Innovation Asset Management is detailing its expansion strategy in the AI and quantum fields based on Mobis's precision control technology, smart factory platform, and industrial data capabilities. Once discussions with strategic partners are finalized, the company will disclose its plans for governance structure and business development.
A representative from Innovation Asset Management stated, "All procedures are proceeding normally so far," and added, "We will transparently release the necessary information as soon as discussions are completed."
