Pocheon City Signs MOU with LIG Nex1 for Establishment of Close Maintenance Support Center

View original imageThis agreement was arranged to strengthen the region's defense industry base, enhance field maintenance capabilities essential for maintaining military power, and simultaneously promote job creation and revitalize the local economy.
Under the agreement, the two parties will cooperate in various areas, including: collaborating on job creation and regional economic development through the establishment of the Close Maintenance Support Center; expanding contributions to the local community such as prioritizing the hiring of local residents; building infrastructure and reinforcing the industrial ecosystem to foster the defense industry; and providing administrative and technical support related to the construction and operation of the center.
LIG Nex1 plans to actively participate in the development of the region's defense industry through the establishment of the center by training maintenance professionals and expanding technical support. Pocheon City will provide administrative support and formulate defense industry development strategies to ensure the smooth implementation of the project. The Close Maintenance Support Center will have a total floor area of approximately 1,800 square meters and is scheduled for completion by the end of next year.

Since 2023, Pocheon City has designated the advanced defense industry as a future growth engine and has been promoting it as a core strategic project. Along with the Gyeonggi Defense Venture Center, which is scheduled to open in February 2026, the establishment of the Close Maintenance Support Center is expected to serve as a key foundation for expanding Pocheon City's defense industry ecosystem and revitalizing the local industry.
