First, he urged the project operator to establish safety measures that not only meet legal standards but also provide reassurance to parents and schools, in line with the conditions set by the Gwangju Hanam Office of Education’s Educational Environment Protection Committee. This includes minimizing noise and dust during construction and excluding harmful entertainment facilities to protect the educational environment and ensure student safety.
In response, the project proposer stated that, regarding the committee’s recommendations, they would: install water-spraying facilities, fine dust monitors, noise measurement electronic boards, and mobile air-inflated soundproof walls to address noise and dust; assign safety personnel, install safety signs, and restrict construction vehicle access on school routes to ensure commuting safety; and form a parent monitoring group to maintain ongoing communication with parents and schools, thereby alleviating concerns about educational environment protection and student safety.
Furthermore, in accordance with the “Hanam City Ordinance on the Operation of Preliminary Negotiations for Urban Planning Changes” enacted by the Hanam City Council, Mayor Lee strongly urged the project proposer to return any profits generated from urban planning changes to the local community, to which the project proposer also expressed active agreement.
Additionally, Hanam City once again expressed its gratitude to the Hanam City Council for establishing the institutional foundation for preliminary negotiations to recover profits, ensuring that this 5-star hotel project can be carried out transparently.
