On December 8 (local time), at the Albany Golf Course (par 72, 7,449 yards) in New Providence, Bahamas, Matsuyama claimed victory at the Hero World Challenge, a premier event on the PGA Tour with a total prize fund of 5 million dollars. This marks his second win at this tournament, following his first in 2016. The winner’s prize is 1 million dollars (approximately 1.47 billion Korean won).

View original imageOn the final day, Matsuyama carded one eagle and six birdies, shooting an 8-under-par 64. After finishing tied with Alex Noren of Sweden at 22-under-par 266, Matsuyama secured the win with a birdie on the first playoff hole at the 18th (par 4).
Matsuyama is a golfer with no weaknesses, renowned for his exceptional consistency. In this tournament, he completed a come-from-behind victory using a mix of various brands in his bag, including Srixon, TaylorMade, Cobra, Cleveland, and Titleist.
Throughout the four days of the tournament, Matsuyama averaged a driving distance of 305.70 yards (6th), a fairway hit rate of 78.85% (tied for 11th), a greens-in-regulation rate of 72.22% (tied for 5th), and 1.62 putts per hole when reaching the green in regulation (6th).
