Pyeongtaek City is carrying out various projects to promote bicycle use and ensure safety. A notable example is the construction of a major bicycle rest area and hands-on training center covering 3,140 square meters at the confluence of the Anseongcheon and Jinwicheon rivers.
Through the Pyeongtaek Port drainage improvement project, the city also plans to create a 6-kilometer bicycle path, a 7,672-square-meter bicycle rest area, and a 39,000-square-meter bicycle-themed park.
In urban areas, the city has enhanced safety and accessibility by expanding the installation of emergency reporting systems, LED license plates, security lights, and QR guide signs for nighttime safety, as well as operating six national cycling certification booths.
In addition, the city continues to implement citizen-focused policies, including hands-on training for about 6,000 elementary school students annually, the introduction of new safety education programs for youth personal mobility devices and bicycles, organizing bicycle parades, producing guide maps, and providing bicycle insurance for all citizens.
