Incheon Tourism Organization and Inha University Sign Agreement for Revitalizing Old Downtown with Sangsang Platform as a Hub
On December 8, the Incheon Tourism Organization announced that it had signed a business agreement with Inha University to establish a cooperative system for revitalizing the old downtown area of Incheon as a base for the Sangsang Platform.
The organization stated that this agreement is significant as it lays the foundation for cooperation between the organization and the university in areas such as urban regeneration, tourism revitalization, and support for youth activities, all centered around the Sangsang Platform, a complex cultural space, with the goal of recreating the value of the old downtown. The organization emphasized that this is an important step in implementing regional revitalization strategies.
Until now, the organization has utilized the Sangsang Platform as a key base for the regeneration of Incheon's old downtown and for promoting tourism. With this agreement, the organization plans to collaborate with Inha University in various fields, including the joint development of cultural and tourism content, empirical research and cooperation to restore the value of the old downtown, and expanding opportunities for local youth activities.
In particular, in connection with Inha University's 'I-RISE (Incheon Regional Innovation-led University Support System) Project,' the two institutions will also pursue the discovery of tourism content, cooperation in the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) sector, and initiatives to attract more young people to the old downtown area.
