Beom-in Park, County Governor of Geumsan, instructed at an executive meeting held in the county office situation room on December 8, 2025, "Last week, Geumsan County secured the 2026 Local Extinction Response Fund," and directed officials to utilize this budget to respond to population decline.
The Local Extinction Response Fund is financial support allocated annually to establish a sustainable development foundation for areas experiencing population decline, with the amount of support varying depending on evaluation grades.
Through this, the county plans to implement projects focused on improving settlement conditions for young people and attracting new residents.
