Special Prosecutor Park Ji-young stated, "Today, Assemblyman Choo was indicted without detention on charges of engaging in important duties related to rebellion, specifically for obstructing the December 3 Martial Law vote."
Choo is accused of, as the ruling party’s floor leader, receiving a request from former President Yoon Suk-yeol’s side to cooperate with the martial law declaration last year and subsequently obstructing other lawmakers from participating in the vote to lift martial law.
After the martial law was declared, he convened an emergency party meeting and changed the venue three times, alternating between the National Assembly and the party headquarters.
