The Most Prestigious Awards in the Semiconductor Industry
Comprehensive Evaluation of Leadership and Financial Performance
Record-Breaking Quarterly Results This Year

SK Hynix announced on December 7 that it received the "Best Financially Managed Semiconductor Company Award (over $1 Billion in Annual Sales)" and the "Outstanding Asia-Pacific Semiconductor Company Award" at the "GSA Awards 2025," hosted by the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) in Santa Clara, California, on December 4 (local time).

The GSA Awards, organized annually by the GSA since 1996, are considered the most prestigious awards in the semiconductor industry. The ceremony honors companies and individuals who have achieved outstanding results in various categories, including leadership, financial performance, and industry respect.

SK Hynix won the Best Financially Managed Company Award for the second time, following its first win in 2017, and received the Asia-Pacific Semiconductor Company Award for the first time. The company stated, "Just two years ago, the industry faced unexpected downturns, but we overcame these challenges faster than anyone else thanks to our advanced artificial intelligence (AI) memory technology, such as high-bandwidth memory (HBM), earning recognition for world-class management performance." The company added, "We will continue to grow as a company based on our overwhelming technological leadership in the AI memory market."

The background to this achievement includes SK Hynix's technological leadership and customer-centric management, which enabled the company to proactively present groundbreaking HBM solutions and respond to customer demand in a timely manner in the global AI market. Chey Tae-won, Chairman of SK Group, has consistently emphasized, "It is especially during difficult times that we must focus unwaveringly on securing technological competitiveness." SK Hynix explained that such long-term investments in technology and the establishment of a global cooperation network have led to improved performance and strengthened financial soundness.

In fact, the company has been posting record-breaking results every quarter in 2025. Cumulative sales for the third quarter reached 64 trillion won, with operating profit at 28 trillion won. Financial soundness has also improved significantly. As of the end of the third quarter, cash and cash equivalents stood at 27.9 trillion won, up 10.9 trillion won from the previous quarter, while borrowings remained at 24.1 trillion won, enabling the company to successfully transition to a net cash position of approximately 4 trillion won.

Building on these achievements, SK Hynix is continuing to make large-scale investments to solidify its leadership in the AI memory market. The M15X fab in Cheongju, which opened its cleanroom ahead of schedule in October, is set to begin mass production of HBM in the first half of next year after rapid equipment installation. The first fab of the Yongin Semiconductor Cluster, which began full-scale construction in February this year, is also under active development with the goal of completion ahead of the original schedule.

Kim Juseon, President of AI Infrastructure (Chief Marketing Officer), and Ryu Seongsu, Vice President (in charge of the Americas), attended the awards ceremony, with President Kim accepting the award on behalf of the company. President Kim stated, "It is an honor to receive this award on behalf of SK Hynix," and added, "With market-leading products and differentiated technological competitiveness, we will create new value with our customers as a 'Full Stack AI Memory Creator' and lead the growth of the AI market."
