Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Jin Youngseung visited units tasked with defending the ground and airspace of Seoul to inspect their operational readiness.
According to the Joint Chiefs of Staff on December 5, Chairman Jin inspected the air defense positions under the 1st Air Defense Brigade and the batteries under the 3rd Missile Defense Brigade in succession, checking their operational posture and encouraging the service members.
Chairman Jin emphasized, "To ensure the safety of citizens in the mega-city capital of Seoul, please maintain a robust all-round readiness posture capable of responding to any threat to our airspace."

Chairman Jin then visited a security battalion under the 1st Security Group to inspect the preparedness for protection missions in designated security zones. He urged, "Given the characteristics of these designated security zones, where key national facilities are concentrated within the city, please maintain a proactive operational posture so that you can respond preemptively and flexibly to various threats."
