The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education and Jeonnam Province are accelerating efforts to expand practical cooperation aimed at strengthening Jeonnam's future competitiveness.
The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced that, on December 5, it held a meeting with Jeonnam Province, attended by Superintendent Kim Daejung, Governor Kim Youngrok, and key executives from both sides. The two organizations engaged in in-depth discussions on the agenda for the '2025 Jeollanam-do Education Administration Council' and on regional education cooperation tasks.

The agenda items discussed included: ▲ the 2026 legal transfer budget for the special education finance account from local governments, ▲ support for Jeonnam youth history and heritage site tours, ▲ joint implementation of sexual rights education for children and adolescents with disabilities, ▲ cooperation in linking school trips and field trips with the 2026 Yeosu World Island Expo, and ▲ operational plans for regional talent development support projects.
Superintendent Kim Daejung stated, "I am grateful to Jeonnam Province for steadfastly supporting education cooperation projects despite challenging local financial conditions," adding, "We will work together to address Jeonnam's pressing issues, such as transforming education to focus on AI talent development, revitalizing the region, and tackling population challenges."
Governor Kim Youngrok remarked, "Partnership-based cooperation between local governments and the office of education is the greatest strength for the region to survive and prepare for the future in a rapidly changing educational environment," and pledged, "We will continue to identify and implement practical cooperative projects that drive student growth and regional development."
