The event was organized to establish a cooperative system for global safety education based on collaboration and trust among public institutions, and to formalize the inclusion of safety education at the Korea Safety Experience Center in the KOICA overseas volunteer training program.
According to the agreement, the organizations plan to cooperate in the following areas: joint development of safety management education programs; sharing of human and material resources such as educational facilities and expert instructors; establishment of a system for evaluating educational outcomes and providing feedback; and expanding community participation and realizing social value. These efforts aim to promote a culture of public safety and contribute to regional development.
Seol Oksun, Director of the Korea Safety Experience Center, stated, "Through continued cooperation with the KOICA Global Talent Education Institute and Coworks Co., Ltd., we will provide globally customized safety education to overseas volunteers and establish a strong foundation to help them put their learning into practice in the field worldwide. Furthermore, we will develop educational programs that combine safety experiences with Taebaek City's unique resources, creating an educational environment where the local community can grow together."
Meanwhile, in 2025, a total of eight groups comprising about 280 KOICA overseas volunteers visited the Korea Safety Experience Center to receive safety training. In September, they participated in the 'Four Seasons (Autumn) Safety Camp,' where they experienced a regionally integrated safety program.
