Jeonggwan Library in Gijang-gun Signs MOU with National Institute of Ecology... Launches New 'Ecological Library Reading Nature' Section

Jeonggwan Library in Gijang-gun, Busan (Director: Lee Hyeyoung) recently signed a business agreement with the National Institute of Ecology and newly established the 'Ecological Library Reading Nature' section within the library.
This agreement was pursued to enhance ecological sensitivity in the local community and to build a foundation for sustainable environmental education.
Under the agreement, Jeonggwan Library received a donation of approximately 220 ecology-related books from the National Institute of Ecology and set up the 'Ecological Library Reading Nature' section in both the general and children's reading rooms. The newly established section features a wide range of books that provide a broad understanding of the relationship between nature and humans, covering topics such as the climate crisis, ecosystem conservation, biodiversity, and environmental ethics.
Jeonggwan Library plans to further strengthen activities to promote ecological values in the region by operating various related programs, including reading programs, ecological experience education, and exhibitions, in close cooperation with the National Institute of Ecology.
A library official stated, "We hope the Ecological Library will inspire interest and broaden understanding of nature and the environment for everyone from children to adults," adding, "We will continue our efforts to establish Jeonggwan Library as a regional hub for ecological learning and the spread of environmental awareness."

A representative from the National Institute of Ecology said, "It is meaningful that, through cooperation with public libraries, more citizens can easily access ecological resources," and added, "We will continue to pursue various collaborative activities to promote ecological values."
