The event was further energized by the participation of around 150 citizens, various civic groups, Mayor Kim Donggeun, City Council Chair Kim Yeongyun, as well as provincial and city council members.
Participants united in their call for the early start of the GTX-C line through speeches by citizen representatives, the reading of a resolution, chanting of slogans, and a slogan performance.
In his welcoming speech, Mayor Kim Donggeun stated, "The GTX-C line is a core driving force that will lead the future transformation of Uijeongbu City, and it is more important than ever for citizens to speak with one voice to push this project forward. I hope that, starting with today's rally, the aspirations of citizens in northern Gyeonggi Province for the commencement of GTX-C construction will gradually spread to other municipalities, so that we can all speak as one."

The government must promptly fulfill its promise, which holds the future of our region."
Lim Youngguk, Chair of the Community Leaders' Council, strongly urged the government in a resolution to: ▲ establish responsible measures for the prompt commencement of the GTX-C construction project, ▲ immediately begin construction to restore policy credibility and achieve balanced development in the metropolitan area, ▲ guarantee a 'life with evenings' for citizens suffering from commuting hardships, and ▲ prioritize advancing the opening date as a top agenda item.
