Samyang Foods Becomes First in Food Industry to Win '900 Million Dollar Export Tower' Award
Double Win at the 62nd Trade Day:
"900 Million Dollar Export Tower" and "Brand Tower" Awards
Samyang Foods announced on the 4th that it had become the first company in the food industry to receive the '900 Million Dollar Export Tower' award at the 62nd Trade Day ceremony held at COEX in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The company also received the 'Brand Tower' award for its 'Samyang' brand. Kim Jungsoo, Vice Chairman of Samyang Foods, was awarded the Silver Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit in recognition of his contributions to increasing exports and elevating the status of K-Food.
The Export Tower is an award given to companies that have contributed to increasing exports, based on export performance from July 1 of the previous year to June 30 of the current year. Samyang Foods achieved export sales of 970 million dollars during this period. This achievement comes just one year after receiving the 700 Million Dollar Export Tower last year. During the same period, the Samyang brand recorded export sales of 24 million dollars, earning the 'Brand Tower' award.
Samyang Foods is solidifying its position as a leading K-Food brand in the global market, spearheaded by its flagship export product, Buldak Ramen. In line with this, the company has strengthened its overseas business foundation by establishing sales subsidiaries and expanding production facilities in major global markets, while also broadening its export portfolio with brands such as Samyang and Taengle to sustain export growth. Currently, Samyang Foods operates in over 100 countries, with overseas sales accounting for 80% of its total revenue.
On this day, Vice Chairman Kim Jungsoo was awarded the Silver Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit in recognition of his contributions to the national economy through expanded food exports and promoting the excellence of K-Food. Since Buldak Ramen began gaining popularity on social media in 2016, Vice Chairman Kim has led the company's overseas expansion, focusing on increasing export destinations and local sales networks. Through these efforts, he transformed Samyang Foods into an export-oriented company and developed the Buldak brand into a global mega-brand, establishing a key driver for export growth.
