Gimpo City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Byungsoo) announced on December 4 that it has been selected as a 'Family-Friendly Certified Institution' in the family-friendly certification review organized by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.
The family-friendly certification is a system in which the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family grants certification to public institutions and companies that operate family-friendly systems in an exemplary manner, such as supporting childbirth and child-rearing, implementing flexible work arrangements, and fostering a family-friendly workplace culture.
This certification is the result of a re-evaluation of existing family-friendly certified institutions. Gimpo City has been selected as a family-friendly certified institution for the fifth consecutive time and will maintain this status until November 2028.
In particular, Gimpo City achieved a perfect score of 100 points in the re-evaluation, demonstrating that the city has systematically and continuously fostered a family-friendly workplace culture, including employee welfare.
Gimpo City has been efficiently meeting the diverse welfare needs of its employees by providing childbirth support allowances, vacation facility support, psychological counseling services, and wellness-focused workplace training. The city has also continuously implemented various family-friendly policies to promote work-life balance for both families and the workplace.
