Dongjak District Recognized as Seoul's Top Institution in the Nutrition Plus Program
Awarded Minister of Health and Welfare Commendation
Dongjak District in Seoul (Mayor Park Ilha) has been recognized as the top institution in Seoul in the "2025 Nutrition Plus Program Evaluation" organized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, receiving a ministerial commendation. The Nutrition Plus Program aims to promote health by providing systematic nutrition education, counseling, and supplementary foods to pregnant women and young children.

A comprehensive review was carried out based on eight criteria in three categories: identifying eligible participants and managing program operations, supplying and managing supplementary foods, and utilizing and connecting local resources.
Dongjak District received high marks for operating the activity-based program "Our Family's Health Up! Nutrition Plus+," which was developed in response to participant needs. The district established proactive strategies to improve nutritional imbalances among vulnerable pregnant women and young children, and surveyed the educational needs of 140 new households to design participatory education sessions.
In particular, various programs significantly increased participation and satisfaction, including the production and distribution of healthy eating materials for mothers and children, demonstrations by specialized instructors tailored to participants, and real-time cooking classes (covering initial, intermediate, late, and completed stages of baby food) conducted via ZOOM. Additionally, Dongjak District strengthened accessibility and expanded the beneficiary base by operating a Nutrition Plus community using Naver Band.
