Emart to Offer Half-Price Yellowtail and Korean Beef Sirloin at 'Goraeit Festa' from December 5 to 7
Yellowtail Prices Rise Due to High Sea Temperatures, Now 24,900 Won
Apples for 6,990 Won, Crispy Chicken for 7,788 Won
Emart announced on December 4 that it will hold a special weekend discount event to mark the final weekend of the December Goraeit Festa.
To kick off the official yellowtail season, Emart has prepared yellowtail sashimi at ultra-low prices. This yellowtail sashimi promotion is available with the same price and quality as Emart stores through SSG.com’s weekly delivery service.
From December 5 to 7, for three days, Emart and SSG.com will sell the “Winter Yellowtail Sashimi (360g per pack),” suitable for 2 to 3 people, at a 50% discount for 24,900 won when customers use their Shinsegae Points and pay with a promotional card. Emart has secured the largest volume of farmed yellowtail from Geoje, Tongyeong, and other regions, and only selects yellowtail weighing at least 5kg per fish.
This year, higher sea temperatures have delayed the fattening and growth of yellowtail, pushing the yellowtail season back by a month and raising market prices by more than 20-30%. However, thanks to Emart’s purchasing power and price investment, the company is selling yellowtail sashimi about 20% cheaper than at the start of last year’s season. SSG.com conducted sales and delivery tests for Emart’s yellowtail sashimi last year, and this year, it is expanding operations by increasing supply more than tenfold. Emart plans to use this yellowtail sashimi event as an opportunity to expand sashimi sales on SSG.com and strengthen synergy between the two companies.
Emart has also prepared a half-price discount on meat. From December 5 to 7, “Korean Beef Sirloin (chilled)” will be available at a 50% discount with Shinsegae Points. On December 6 and 7, “Chilled Stew Ribs from Australia, the United States, and Canada (per 100g)” will be sold for 1,990 won-a 50% discount-when paid for with a promotional card.
In the produce section, from December 5 to 7, essential fruits such as apples, tangerines, and blueberries, as well as staple vegetables like paprika, green onions, and king oyster mushrooms, will be discounted by up to 50%. “Fresh Fuji Dimple Apples (4-8 pieces per bag)” will be sold for 6,990 won-a 50% discount with Shinsegae Points. “High-Sugar Tangerines (2kg per box)” will be available for 9,980 won-a 5,000 won discount when purchased with a promotional card.
In the deli section, “Hot Crispy Chicken,” made with domestic No. 10 chicken, will be available for 7,788 won-a 40% discount when paid for with a promotional card. Other items, such as “Premium Fresh Salmon Sushi,” “Juicy Charbroiled Hamburg Steak,” and “Castella Cake Set,” will also be discounted with Shinsegae Points.
