Police Award Record 100 Million Won Bounty for Tip-Off on Investment Chat Room Scam Organization
The National Office of Investigation under the National Police Agency announced on December 4 that it had awarded a record-high special reward of 100 million won to a citizen who provided a decisive tip-off about a criminal organization running an investment recommendation chat room scam.
The police also awarded 40 million won and 13 million won, respectively, to citizens who provided key information leading to the apprehension of a criminal group operating an illegal lending business and a suspect involved in an organized robbery and assault case.

Park Sungju, Commissioner of the National Office of Investigation at the National Police Agency, stated, "We plan to further activate the reward system and actively utilize it to eradicate organized crimes that threaten public safety, such as drug offenses and voice phishing. We encourage the public to continue reporting and providing information."
