GS Group has continued its nearly 20-year tradition of charitable giving by donating funds to the Community Chest of Korea at the end of this year as well.
On December 3, GS Group (Chairman Huh Tae-soo) announced that it had donated 4 billion won in year-end "Neighborly Love" funds to the Community Chest of Korea. Since 2005, GS has consistently delivered these donations every year at the end of the year to support vulnerable groups in society. The total cumulative amount donated by this year has reached 80 billion won. The funds delivered on this day will be used to support neighbors who are economically disadvantaged and marginalized.
A GS official stated, "As the year comes to a close, GS will continue to make efforts to practice neighborly love by sharing with those in need," and added, "We will continue our social contribution activities so that neighbors in need can live with hope, leveraging the capabilities and expertise of our affiliates."
Chairman Huh Tae-soo has consistently emphasized that "to become an excellent and sustainable company, it is necessary to contribute to the national economy, practice fair and transparent management, engage in social contribution, and make various efforts for mutual growth." He has also stated, "For our society to become warmer and happier, companies must take the lead in fulfilling their social roles through sharing."
